Gerard McElwee is independent scholar. His particular research interests are village sustainability, illegal rural enterprise and rural animateurs. He is editor of The International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation published by SAGE, which he launched in 2000. He sits on numerous Editorial Boards in the area of Entrepreneurship.
