Isabelle Simon is an ATER in Roman history at the Université Charles-de-Gaulle - Lille 3. In November 2006, she defended a doctoral thesis entitled La générosité du prince : banquets, dons et distributions à Rome, d'Auguste aux Sévères (The prince's generosity: banquets, gifts and distributions in Rome from Augustus to the Severans) at the Université de Paris X - Nanterre, under the supervision of Mme Élizabeth Deniaux.
