Although the subjectivation process is one of the treatment goals,

« powerful affective relationship » often shows up from
the beginning of the treatment between the therapist and his young
patient, though sometimes, only after a necessary phase of making
friends. The squiggle is a precious tool to do so. From F.
Roustang’s quotation and with excerpts from two treatments with
children, the author underlines how much this attachment and the
auxiliary ego of the therapist are necessary and much more
important than the classical theory of
« projection-repetition » of the transference neurosis.
Playing allows the awakened dream to happen, the child uses the
therapist as a basis for change. Then, the way out of transference
is usually completed without any problem, which is much of a
surprise for parents.

important transferential moments characterised by action,
incestuousness, paradoxicality and envy, difficulties with which
analysis is confronted in the case of narcissistic perversion. We
shall see how the paradoxical dimension, an essential element of
the perverse transference, can lead to situations resembling the
negative therapeutic reaction or impasses, such that : “ To go on

and dreams – to laughterFar from being a classification of
« mental illnesses » with objective signs, the analytic
conception of symptoms considers them as a singular compromise
formation that is enigmatic for a subject. This singularity, in
addition to a perspective view of the enigma, stirs up the
creativity of the symptom in the analytic cure, the moment the
symptom meets with a « dreaming appliance » and it allows
the movement of the subject’s fundamental questions in the
transference. It is for this reason that the pre-text of the
symptom allows the implementation of forthcoming transference
formations, often producing a good laugh, the sign of internal
conflicts being overtaken and the unveiling of desire’s truth. From
complaint to humour, from suffering to laughter, the fertile
movements initiated by the symptom’s language go through the
complex and mobile exuberance of dreams, delivering interpretable
relations and changes in the body and emotions by the means of
speech. Is the subversive force of laughter caused by
interpretation a way of healing the figures previously encased in

to being in therapy. We understand why Freud pointed it as a
resistance. It will show up again by the end of the treatment and
one should be very cautious that it disappears to give room to what
Laplanche calls « transfert en creux » (« hollow
transference »). Between begining and end, the analysis is
above all about the emergence of multiple and umpredictable
analytical transferences, as they are the ones we’re looking for to
do the work. Nevertheless, imagery transference remains :
first because it represents the basis of psychic life – ne me
without others – second because it gives everyone the oppportunity
to be objective regarding this given origin, to project it and, in
doing so, to discriminate so that one’s multiple alienations are
uncovered.
