            <summary type="html"><![CDATA[Appeared in the 1980s in the United States, the concept of
third-place refers to new social spaces by which is built the
cohesion of an urban society in transition. At the age of Internet
and the knowledge economy, the third-place appears as a new
workplace where communities are doing projects to build a new
world. These third-places are coworking spaces, Fab Labs and other
formats but the worldwide spatial diffusion of these concepts
diverges the original model, although it is emerging. Sometimes
flagship for the utopia of a collaborative economy, sometimes a
more modest response to the lost of wage employment, the
third-place is also imagined as a tool for territorial development.
After a review of the literature, the article analyzes the
third-places from the perspective of the spatial diffusion theory
of innovation. Then we discuss, in particular through the example
of the Nord-Pas de Calais Region, about the diffusion vectors and
process of an economic and societal change brought by new uses of
digital technologies.]]></summary>

            <summary type="html"><![CDATA[Fablabs have been flourishing in France and around the world for a
few years and are attracting growing interest. Although many
studies have been conducted on these spaces in Europe or in
developed countries, little research has been conducted on Africa.
Our objective is then to ask ourselves about the specificities of
the fablabs of French-speaking Africa that are the subject of our
study, and to shed some light on these third-places. Based on a
series of interviews with the fabmanagers of these places, we show
that, even if these spaces have features in common with their
counterparts in the North, they present a strong characteristic of
digital acculturation, destined to specific needs, and focused on
identified populations such as young people, artisans and farmers,
women. A comparative analysis of French and African places is also

to study the relationships between work and reference systems from
a specific french occupational field, the digital mediation, and a
specific type of reference system, the “Job, Activity and
Competencies Reference System” (JAC-RS), both of which have been
little studied so far. In this context, we question the links
between certification, profession and professionalization of a
community of workers. The analysis is focused on the evolution of
the digital mediation’s JAC-RS and the role of the professional
dynamics from within and from above that contribute to the
inflection of the content of the reference systems in
this&#160;occupational field.]]></summary>
