the workplace, particularly in English-speaking countries, have
focused on the issue of coming out, with quantitative studies
centered on the antecedents and consequences of this disclosure.
Few qualitative studies have examined disclosure strategies,
situating them within an individual’s sexual and emotional journey,
and they have mostly focused on gay men. This article examines how
lesbian employees navigate this disclosure process, comparing the
case of “late-blooming lesbians” (women who led heterosexual lives
for many years, most often with children) with that of
“early-blooming lesbians.” This intra-categorical comparison allows
identifying the specific stakes related to coming out as a lesbian
and the strategies associated with this. However, the
administration of the survey, through two lesbian organizations and
a lesbian forum in France, significantly overrepresented educated
women in their thirties who publicly identified as
“lesbians.”

labour and goes back to one of the theoretical sources of French
labour and social security law: Emile Durkheim. The article
presents, to criticize it, the interpretation Georges Friedmann
proposes in The Anatomy of Work of Durkheim’s Division of Labour in
Society. According to Friedmann, the labour standards that Durkheim
is calling for can be compared to the scientific management
advocated by Frederick Winslow Taylor. Contrary to such an
interpretation, the article shows that Durkheim characterises the
labour standards as a legal regulation that, conceptually, paves
the way of labour law and of a social and economic democratization
of labour.
