The psychiatric care team at the Mauzac detention center used equine mediation for inmates convicted of sexual or physical violence. The horse reacts sensitively to its environment, adopting body postures in line with its perceptions. This body language enables people with verbalization difficulties to express their feelings and gradually adhere to care. The equine mediation project was developed jointly by the health system and the prison administration.
