Enhancing the value of research in today's Egypt
In collaboration with Université SenghorThis meeting with Dr. Gihane Zaki aims to explore the contemporary dynamics of Egyptian cultural heritage valorization between research, cultural diplomacy and teaching. Through her journey, this discussion provides a better understanding of the stakes involved in preserving heritage in the face of climate challenges, museum innovations in Egypt, the role of women in cultural fields and possible synergies between international cooperation, knowledge transmission and cultural policies. The meeting also looks at the strategic impact of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the Biggeh archaeological site and the role of Senghor University in the training of French-speaking executives in Africa.

Dr Gihane Zaki is a professor of Egyptology and currently a research engineer at CNRS (UMR 8167 - Sorbonne University). She is a member of the Egyptian Parliament and the Institute of Egypt. A committed figure in interdisciplinary research and cultural diplomacy, she was named one of UNESCO's Women Speakers in 2015. She has received several international distinctions, including Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Mérite (France, 2009) and the Italian La Rosa di Bronzo for intercultural dialogue in 2015.
