Medicinal plant extracts are gaining popularity as a potential source of natural bioactive compounds. They are being researched for their potential use as an alternative treatment for infectious diseases and to protect food products against oxidation, which is involved in the etiology of a wide range of diseases that are currently regarded as one of the major public health issues [1]. We were particularly interested in Moringa oleifera, which belongs to the Moringaceae family, which contains about 12–14 species [2], and is found throughout the tropical and subtropical zones [3–5]. Moringa oleifera is known as the “tree of life” because of its numerous medicinal and industrial potentialities, rich in nutrients, and more recommended by people suffering from malnutrition [6].
Because of its geographic position, Algeria boasts a diverse and rich vegetation. This study aimed to evaluate the biological activities of Moringa oleifera leaves collected in the Tabelbala area of the Wilaya of Bechar in south-western Algeria to confirm the plant's well-known advantages.Moringa oleifera leaves are abundant in beta-carotene, vitamin C, protein, iron, and potassium, and are a good source of these nutrients [7,8]. Almost all parts of this plant have antitumor, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, antihypertensive, diuretic, anticholesterol, antidiabetic, antioxidant, antispasmodic, antibacterial, and antifungal properties.Moringa oleifera leaves also suppress the growth of pancreatic cancer cells and improve the efficacy of chemotherapy in patients who have already established treatment resistance [9]…
