Pituitary tumors are largely benign, slow-growing intracranial tumors arising from the anterior pituitary gland. In rare instances, they may display aggressive and/or invasive behavior, characterized by extension to adjacent structures, high risk of progression, and resistance to conventional therapies. Their therapeutic management is complex, requiring multidisciplinary teams and reliance on iterative resection surgery and/or specific medical treatment combined with lifelong monitoring, given the risk of tumor progression or degeneration into pituitary carcinoma and iatrogenic complications.
