Drawing on clinical experience, in the form of a few memories of emblematic family encounters, the author defends the primacy of an integrative approach over “medicalization” when it comes to disorders of contact with reality. Ultimately, this will promote “subsidiarity of care” in favor of “continuity of attention,” both to the individual and to his or her human ecosystem.
