A professor of history and political science and a researcher at the Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research at the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa), he is the director of the Foundation for Innovation in Democracy. His publications include *Critique of Black Reason* (2013) and *Brutalism* (2020), both published by La Découverte.
