About
Professor of the history of modern philosophy at the University of Paris I. He has written several books on Descartes (including *L’Homme des passions*, 1995, 2 vols., Descartes’s Metaphysical Meditations, 2005; Descartes and Moral Philosophy, 2008; The Style of Descartes, 2013) and is co-editing the new edition of his Complete Works.
