Gisèle Sapiro is Director of Studies at EHESS and Director of Research at CNRS. A specialist in the sociology of literature, intellectuals, freedom of expression, publishing and translation, she is the author of La guerre des écrivains, 1940-1953 (Fayard, 1999); La responsabilité de l'écrivain.
