Philosopher, translator of T.W. Adorno (Aesthetic Theory, Critical Models), August Wilhelm Schlegel (The Doctrine of Art), and Peter Bürger (The Prose of Modernity), he is Professor Emeritus at the Sorbonne. He directs the Aesthetics Collection at Klincksieck. Among his publications: Adorno and Modernity.
