Psychiatrist, professor of child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Lyon, where he heads the child psychiatry department at Le Vinatier Hospital. He holds a doctorate in neuroscience and is a member of the Lyon Institute of Cognitive Sciences. He has also undergone psychoanalytic training.
