The fundamental structures of human societies
In collaboration with La DécouverteIn his latest book , Bernard Lahire sets out to understand the deep structures of human societies, comparing them in particular to animal societies.
He thus formulates a coherent, unifying paradigm for the social sciences based on a synthesis of essential knowledge about human and non-human social life, accumulated in fields of knowledge as diverse as evolutionary biology, ethology, behavioral ecology, paleoanthropology, prehistory, anthropology, history and sociology.
Bernard Lahire is a sociologist, director of research at CNRS, member of the Max-Weber Center at ENS Lyon.
Catherine Guesde, a member of the editorial team at La Vie des Idées, is the moderator for this meeting.Clip 1
